Nola Darling Previews This Summer’s Fashions

It may not be summer just yet, but depending on how lucky (or unlucky) you are you may already be feeling the heat. Although summer usually consists of sweltering heat and maddening humidity on the plus side it is another reason to switch up your wardrobe game. Take note as Hip Hop duo Nola Darling (Alex and Jaq) give their thoughts on what we can expect to see folks rockin’ this summer.

Where They Reside: Los Angeles, California

The 411: Cali-based, Hip Hop duo Nola Darling are of course known for their bangin’ music, but their amazing sense of style is one to take note of. Alex and Jaq have been featured in Complex Magazine, XXLMag.com, and most recently on BET’s “The Deal.”

Signature Style: “Rude Gal Stylee! Unafraid to take risks, having a blast, and keeping it comfy (aka stilettos on the feet, kicks in the purse. Word up.)”

Their Take On Fashion: “Fashion is creative expression. It's how we ‘window dress’ our bodies. We personally think everybody should just dress in a way that makes them the happiest.”

What’s Out: “Um, hopefully anything that made anyone feel silly or uncomfortable the first time they tried it.”

What’s In: “Apparently, clogs are ‘back’...and they're not leaving anytime soon. Prints are always ‘in’ during the summer.”

Must Have Clothing Item: “Anything seersucker.” (Alex) “White shorts.” (Jaq)

Must Have Accessory: “The lifeguard (jk). Sunglasses!”

Brands To Look Out For: “We actually rock more thrift and vintage than anything else. One of our favorite vintage stores in LA, Shereen Vintage, will be collaborating with Madewell on a line this fall, so we'll definitely checking for that. Another non-vintage brand that we really love is Made Me. Shouts to Erin Magee!”
