Like many lyrically oriented hip-hop heads out there, I had
My City veteran Sha Stimuli's latest album "
My Soul to Keep" on repeat. The man's rhymes were fearlessly honest, fiercely aggressive and just flat out dope, so it feels like Christmas came a little bit early year with the release of Sha's new mixtape "
Overtime (My Soul to Keep)". Essentially a re-up of the album, "Overtime" finds Sham taking the same beats that were used on "My Soul" and drops all new rhymes. In other words, he remixed his own album.
(Side note: You
need to watch Just Blaze explain why the beat stopped being changed on remixes.)
Back to the the main point. "Overtime" is mixed
DJ Slimm and presented by the boyz at the house of dope. I can't think of a better way to spend your weekend. Enjoy.
