Mobb Deep & Nas Step in Some “Dog Sh*t” (Listen & Download)Posted by Nathan S. on 04/04/11 | Filed under Top Stories, Downloads, Nas, Mobb Deep, East Coast |

(Yes, there was a time when wearing overalls was gangster - shout out to Nas)
In a lot of ways, Mobb Deep is the archetypal east coast street rap crew. Capable of absolute classics (I see you "The Infamous"), they were also incredibly inconsistent, due no doubt in part to the fact that Havoc and/or Prodigy were constantly in and out of jail. Hopefully now that Prodigy's no longer behind bars they'll have the stability to starting making uncut, raw hip-hop again like new single "Dog Shit" featuring Nas.
While "Dog Shit"s beat won't blow anyone away, the power of Alchemist's production is always in it's stripped down feel, and on the mic both Havoc and Prodigy are solid. Most notably, Nas, marking his first time with the Mobb since '99's "It's Mine", does pretty well too - I'd love to know when that verse was recorded. I wouldn't be remotely surprised if it's been in the vaults for at least five years.
Anyway, the track's good enough that it actually manages to overcome the fact that its titled "Dog Shit", no easy feat. Enjoy.
Sorry folks, the stream's down right now. In the words of Cam'ron, it'll be back up as soon as I get these computer's putin.
