In Lebron James' never-ending quest to be more than just the best basketball player alive, the global icon brought his considerable charisma to Hollywood's Roosevelt Hotel to hype the release of the soundtrack for his upcoming movie More Than a Game. Hosted by Lebron and featuring celebrity appearances from the likes of Soulja Boy, Tyrese and a relatively subdued Ron Artest (plus, of course, yours truly), the More Than a Game release party was only the first chapter in Lebron's likely ascendancy into Hollywood's elite.
More Than a Game chronicles Lebron before he was icon and simply Lebron James, the greatest thing to ever hit Akron, Ohio. An inside look at his senior season, More Than a Game combines interviews with rare news footage, never-before-seen home videos, and personal family photographs to tell the tale of his friendship with his teammates, and their struggle to win a national championship in the face of Lebron's mounting fame.
There's no way Lebron would let his cinematic debut be acompanied by anything less than a stellar score, and the More Than a Game soundtrack is appropriately laoded with all-star talent. Two of the album's tracks, Drake's Forever and Mary J. Blige's Stronger are already making smash hits, but personally I'm a fan of T.I.'s King on Set, a southern banger that harkens back to T.I.'s swagger filled early days before "swagger" was even a word.
The soundtrack hit stores and online retailers Sept. 29, while More Than a Game will show in theaters across the country starting Oct. 2. You can see the full tracklisting and listen to a streamed version of the album on Imeem below.
