Sometimes I wonder about hip-hop nation. We fall in and out of love more quickly than a teenage girl sometimes. Case in point,
Fat Joe. Despite the fact that he was part of one of the greatest hip-hop tracks in history, his collabo track with Big Pun "
Twinz", and he had released a steady stream of quality albums for years, he got in some beef with 50 (never a good idea), dropped one forgettable album, "The Elephant in the Room", and suddenly everyone was acting like he was the worst rapper since the Wockster.
And now? Now he dropped "Slow Down You're Killin 'Em" once again the consensus is that, even if they don't love him, Fat Joe's at least a decent rapper, and I don't see that opinion changing with the leak of his new track "
No Problems". Produced by
Scoop DeVille, "No Problems" is a catchy - and dare I say dope? - that proves yet again that Joe's got some legit lyrical ability. "Light em up, blow em out like candles / Got em scramblin backwards like Cunningham, Randall." Come on, that's a nice line.
