For weeks I've been extolling the hip-hop virtues of
My City alumnus Big K.R.I.T., and thankfully the man's found fit to deliver on my promise of dopeness with his new mixalbum "Krit Wuz Here". Other than David Banner (sometimes), Mississippi hasn't has a representative who can represent his home state lyrically, but if he keeps smashing tracks like this, emcee/producer K.R.I.T. has the potential to be that guy.
Presented by the fam
DJBooth, Cinematic Music Group and
Creative Control, "Krit Wuz Here" includes appearances from
Smoke DZA, Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y and
Devin the Dude (lot of puffing and passin in that group) and production was handled entirely by K.R.I.T. himself.
On a side note, Big K.R.I.T. representative Goodtalk is promising that: “We dug deep into the crates for the music/movie samples! The first person who can tell us which samples we used we will get $1,000 cash and a pan of Jonny Shipes famous brownies.” For the record, I'm pretty sure he's serious. So any crateheads who can pretty easily figure out the samples ("Friday Night Lights" is obviously one) should go for it.
