If I said I was thinking of an unapologetically Southern young rapper whose fame has exploded in the last few months due to an incredibly dope mixalbum, who would you guess? Would you guess recent Def Jam signee and "K.R.I.T. Wuz Here" creator Big K.R.I.T.? Or would you go with "Trunk Muzik" author Yelawolf?
The answer is, of course, all of the above. Given their similarities it's only right that Yela jumped on the remix to one of the standout cuts on "Wuz Here", the slowly paced and darkly beautiful "Hometown Hero". So now in addition to K.R.I.T. repping hard for the rarely repped Meridian, Mississippi, we get Yela laying down an unusually-calm-for-him verse shouting out Gadsen, Alabama - which looks lovely by the way.
I still fucking love that sample, by the way. I've got "Friday Night Lights" as the best football movie of all time, of all time! (Kanye voice.) Anyone disagree?
Download link is below the video (I couldn't resist).
That right there, that's supremely dope. Funny, I was bangin' that new J. Cole for the last hour like nobody is touching this one today, and almost passed on it.

As dope as that new Cole is, never sleep on a Big KRIT track. That man's capable of amazing things.
