Tity Boi’s switch to 2 Chainz is a rare example of a successful hip-hop name change - probably because the man named himself fucking Tity Boi in the first place - but most rappers who attempt such a feat aren’t so lucky. From “don’t call me Young” Jeezy to “please call me Mike Bigga” Killer Mike, new rap names never stick, and here’s proof….

And I’m clearly expecting RefinedHype Nation to jump in with some more examples. Two things to keep in mind before you hit the comments below:

1) I’m not counting rappers for whom changing their name is part of their whole thing (aka ODB, Diddy, etc.).

2) I’m not counting Lil Bow Wow, Lil Zane etc., mostly because I don’t give a fuck about them.
