A Complete History of Pre-Fame B.o.B. Mixtapes (Video & Downloads)

Weekend Edition: RefinedHype’s most popular pieces of the week, running from Saturday to Monday morning.

Last night I wrapped up an album review for the mothership of B.o.B.‘s “Strange Clouds” and if there’s any lesson to be learned from Bobby Ray’s sophomore effort, it’s that he’s on the verge of becoming a huge pop/rap star. Huge.

But there was a time when B.o.B. was just another struggling Atlanta rapper putting out mixtapes with DJ Smallz. So I thought it’d be dope to look back on how far the man’s come, both as a “before they were stars” thing, and maybe to serve as some inspiration for other struggling artists out there. It obviously doesn’t happen for everyone, but relative nobody to global star in just a few years really does happen.

I threw together the five mixtapes (yep, five) B.o.B. dropped before he was even a little bit famous, along with a standout track and a download link. The man’s come a long, long way.
