Weekend Edition: RefinedHype’s most popular pieces of the week, running from Saturday to Monday morning.
Damn. Literally last week I writing about how absolutely fundamental to the birth of hip-hop the Beastie Boys were, and today the news comes down that founding member MCA (Adam Yauch) had finally passed away after an extended fight with cancer.
It’s undoubtedly sad news, but I’d rather celebrate MCA’s legacy and use his death as a reminder of the incredible contributions the Beastie’s have made to hip-hop. So I thought we’d take a and to celebrate look back at the NYC collective’s best work, picking one track off each of their albums.
