While he joins Bow Wow in the "wait, you cheated on her for her?!?" Hall of Fame, I won't front, I'm a big fan of The-Dream's R&B, and while Terius has been a little erratic lately new release 'Murderer" is pretty damn good. Frankly it's just nice to hear him sing about something other than how good he is at messing up weaves - like, say, First 48ing another human being. Listen, download and watch....
To get back to the question we previously posed, should Jay Elec have signed to Roc Nation? If the new joint "Shiny Suit Theory" in any indication, yes. Yes he should have. Not only did a suddenly resurgent Pete Rock (see "The Joy") throw down an epic beat complete with some nice finishing touches (those applause breaks are brilliant), but his royal Hovaness jumped on the track as well for a solid but oddly mixed verse. Over the last 24 hours a boatload of new hip-hip visuals have dropped, so I thought we'd start off today by playing a little catch up with another Video Wrap. Today we proudly feature brand spanking new visuals from The_Dream, Sean Price, Rhymefest, Consequence and more...
Since The-Dream dropped the best r&b album of the last five years with "Love vs. Money" I've come to expect every track he releases to be a classic, so when a really good, but not instantly great, track like the new single "Turnt Out" drops, I end up feeling let down. Listen and download...
Every so often more notable new videos drop than I can keep up with so I turn to my trusted Video Wrap. Today's edition features new visuals from The-Dream, Dwele and Gucci Mane wearing the most ridiculous pair of sunglasesses you'll ever see. Sounds like fun, huh? Won't you join me?
For the past few weeks Lloyd Banks has been talking about the "crazy" remix he was assembling for his smash "Beamer, Benz or Bentley" and, like almost everything with that much hype, today we learned that said remix isn't really all that crazy. Even with all new verses from Banks, Ludacris, The-Dream, Jadakiss and Yo Gotti, it's not nearly as good as the original. Listen and download...
A free man as of March 26, Clifford "T.I." Harris announces that he's ready to "Fall In Love Again" on this newly-released record. As for his radio-killing collaborator, R&B hitmaker The-Dream, I'm not sure when he was ever not ready for love. In any case, this track's pop appeal is well beyond normal levels for a mixtape inclusion. Listen/Download...
The lord works in mysterious ways my friends. Not even an hour after I finished an in-depth defense of Young Jeezy, a remix to The-Dream's lead single and title track to his new album "Love King" dropped featuring...wait for it...not yet...The Snowman himself. Now that word around the town - and my town I mean the interwebs - is that the official official "Love King" remix will feature Ludacris, but in the meantime this will have to do. Listen and download...
Need a little break after having your head slammed in all morning by our giant block of Slaughterhouse? Yeah, me too. Luckily relief has come in the form of "Speechless", the newly leaked and surpemely smooth duet featuring Ciara and The-Dream. After her last album "Fantasy Ride" failed to thrill the r&b princess wisely recruited Dream and production partner Tricky Stewart in order to touch up her new effort. Mission motherfu***king accomplished. There's no way this won't be a smash hit. No way. Listen and download...
Considering the wife and I literally conceived our child to his "Love vs. Money" album (too much information?) at first I was devastated by The-Dream's announcement that he'll be retiring as a solo artist after he drops his upcoming "Love King" album. "It's the last album, period," he told MTV News. Well f**k, that pretty much seals the deal...and then I remembered that Dream is far from the only artist to say he was hanging up the mic only to reverse course and continue making albums. See more...
