A boatload of new videos dropped last week and over the holiday weekend that got lost in the shuffle, so I though we'd play catch up with some good ol' video wrap. Today's edition features new visuals from Young Jeezy, The-Dream, Big Boi, a special surprise guest and more. Enjoy....
Thank sweet baby jesus. After I nearly shed tears listening to Diddy besmirch The-Dream's nearly flawless musical record with the painful "Champagne" (which, like "Rocky 5", I'm officially pretending never happened), today Terius Youngdell Nash dropped the baby-maker of the year with "Sex Intelligent". You can't keep a good Dream down for long. Although his last feature "Champagne" was disappointing to say the least, The-Dream is back on top today with his cover of Aaliyah's classic track "One in a Million". Further proof that you can never have too much of a good thing. Listen and download...
I'll admit that makes me an unreliable judge of Dream's new music hell, I even really liked "Make-Up Bag", so when I say that his new track "Champagne" is mediocre at best, it's kind of a big deal. On the production side the beat just kind of sits there and his vocals are just ok. Even the "A!"s sound forced. Listen and download...
The-Dream's people have been hyping the video for his "Love King (Remix)" with Luda for weeks now like it was the sequel to "Avatar", so it's hard not to watch the duo's latest visuals and not wonder, "this is what we were waiting for"? Still, it's better than the original video, so at least they're moving in the right direction. Plus it has a bunch of hot women, so you know, everyone's a winner. See more...
Unlike his other albums, which were relatively solitary affairs, it looks like The-Dream's upcoming "Love King" album could be chock full of elite guest feature goodness. In addition to recruiting Ludacirs for his "Love King (Remix), apparently Christina Milians baby daddy also brought in T.I. for some rhyme-related aid. And by "apparently" I mean he did. And by "he did" I mean I've got their new track "Make Up Bag" sitting in my virtual palms as we speak. Listen and download...
Remember when I dropped that "Love King (Remix)" featuring Young Jeezy and promised it wasn't the official remix, that none other than the Ludameister would be joining The-Dream for the official-official remix? Would I lie to you? (And why am I writing everything in question form?). The point is, the Ludac -assisted "Love King (Remix" is finally here and it's every bit the banger we were hoping for. Listen and download...
I couldn't possibly more amped about the release of Dream's upcoming album (even though I don't believe it will be his last), especially when the opening salvo is as good as "Love King". Now, a few weeks after the release of the album's lead single and title track "Love King", and a week after the remix dropped, Dream has dropped some accompanying visuals featuring (what else?) girls, girls and even more girls. See more...
Unlike "Over", which was really made to get the hip-hop heads talking (mission accomplished), "Shut It Down" is Drake's first attempt at a radio smash (a.k.a. making young women hyperventilate), a radio smash that somewhat surprisingly comes in the form of a r&b slow jam. And if you're going to slow jam, you might as well bring on The-Dream, who predictably kills his section. Listen and download...
I'm not going to lie to you. Any song feature The-Dream saying "motherf**king" in the first ten seconds is guaranteed a listen from yours truly (I'm a classy dude), and that's exactly the situation facing us today with Mariah Carey's "Ribbon (Remix)", a new take on her "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" slow jam that also brings on Ludacris for a romantic, complete opposite of "Hey Ho" verse. Ultimately though, it's The-Dream's always catchy vocals that overshadow both Luda's rhymes and Mariah's soprano vocals. Listen and download...
