Nitty Scott MC, Action Bronson, and The Kid Daytona? Now that is one dope and somewhat unexpected combination of artists. For the remix to her "Doobies And Popsicle Sticks" track "Auntie Marie's Crib" Nitty Scotty recruited fellow MC's Action Bronson and The Kid Daytona. Listen and download...
The Kid Daytona is definitely one of those artists I've come to slowly. I've heard his name around for a minute and enjoyed the tracks I heard here or there, but it's only in the lead up to his new project, "The Interlude II", that I really started to pay attention - and I'm digging what I'm hearing. The Kid Daytona and Melanie Fiona may be a bit of an unexpected pairing of artists, but that doesn't make their new song "Love Is Love" any less dope. In fact, the song is very dope. After introducing himself to RefinedHype Nation with "Doctor, Doctor", NYC representer AWKWORD is back with some simply dope "Bars & Hooks". There's a lot to dig here. The Harry Fraud beat is solidly fundamental and The Incomparable Shakespeare delivers a nice hook, but ultimately this is a rappity rap track, so the real highlights are the rappity raps.
Off the bat, with a title like "Ivory Coast Crime Scene" I was really not expecting that upbeat of a beat. Dope production, but they probably should have considered calling the song something like "Key West Bar Scene." Seems a little more fitting if you ask me. Listen and download...
Being the smart ass that I am, when I first heard that Duck Down representer David Dallas had a new song out called "Feel Like Oasis" I immediately wondered, "what does it feel like to feel like Oasis?" My smart ass answer? It probably feels like drinking an entire bottle of whiskey, fucking a groupie and then punching your brother in the face. Listen...
After dropping a 6th Sense beat tape yesterday and challenging emcees to go in over one of the producer's versatile beats, I thought it was only write to hear a fresh emcee do exactly that. Thus I bring you The Kid Daytona and his new cut "On the Hill", producer, of course, by 6th. Listen and download...
