Rihanna Says Chris Brown Beat Her Repeatedly, Brown Evades Responsiblity (Video)

While Chris Brown has largely so far refused to take direct public responsibility for his actions, Rihanna appears determined to turn the assault into an educational opportunity about the dangers and realities of domestic violence. Rihanna appeared this morning on 20/20 for the first of a two part interview with Diane Sawyer in which she talks about the assault, and its aftermath in-depth. Most importantly, Rihanna says that that night was not an isolated incident and that Chris Brown beat her repeatedly and that she felt it was her duty to help other women in similarly abusive situations protect themselves.

Anticipation for Rihanna's new album is building to a crescendo and the buzz will only get louder with the release of her first single, "Russian Roulette." "Russian Roulette" was written by her longtime hitmaking partner Ne-Yo and features wailing guitars and a spare sound that highlights Rihanna's clean voice. In other words, it'll get some serious airplay. Oh yeah, and the cover art for the single's basically porn, so good times.

Earlier this week Rihanna fans all "atwitter" (sorry for the pun) when the young starlet tweeted “The Wait Is Ova. Nov 23 09,” via her official Twitter page. It's not yet clear if "The Wait Is Ova" is the title of the first single or the actual album title itself. Either way, anticipation in high.
