It was July 2009 when I first heard blctxt contxt, the Atlanta rapper whose name I struggled to figure out for about a minute and a half. I looked at his name with my head cocked to the side like I was staring at one of those vanity license plates. And then I got; it was black text context. See more....
6:30 am. The horns blow and then the beat drops. It took Soul Khan 23 years to write this verse. He felt the sum of all fears in a lightening burst. He was shaking at the window like Pookie with a pipe, but there ain’t no director when the movie is your life. In a verse, Soul Khan had arrived. See more....
Theo is the globe-trotting second generation Nigerian-American, born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island. From such a small state, he packs such a big sound in his music with a worldwide audience. I’ve written a lot about YC The Cynic over the last few months. And I’ve seen a lot written about him. As a relatively newcomer on the New York underground Hip-Hop scene, he has gained the respect of his peers and fans alike. He also has the Hip-Hop blogs on his side. Just recently HipHopDX hailed him as DXNext, in addition to receiving accolades from many other respectable Hip-Hop sites too. See more...
