Just in time for the holidays Outasight has released "Let's Go" a free track fans can enjoy before the release of his debut album next year. While "Let's Go" might not be for everyone, it's kinda heavy on the pop-rock side, I'm personally feeling it. It's just an overall fun, upbeat song that probably shouldn't be taken too seriously. Hip-Hop really needs more songs like this, this is amazing. Not only is "Beautiful" a great song but the proceeds from it will all go to a great organization, the American Cancer Society. On "Beautiful" Big K.R.I.T., Talib Kweli, and Outasight all put in compelling verses as singer Mela Machinko provides the song with quite the moving hook. Listen...
Fresh off the release of his most recent mixtape, Never Say Never, Outasight is back with yet another new project. Like past projects from the Yonkers-based artist this latest mixtape, titled Figure 8, features Outasight both rapping and singing along to a handful of up-tempo tracks. Listen and download...
In the next of our ongoing "Behind the Boards" series, RefinedHype correspondent John Stewart sits down with the enigmatically creative Outasight to talk about his process in the studio, his new album "Never Say Never", his creative relationship with 6th Sense and much more. See more...
I was trying to come up with some pun for Outasight's new free mixtape/mixalbum/free album "Never Say Never", but I'm actually not sure what's so "never-ish" about the project. Does Outasight people think they'd never hear a white guy sing hip-hop/soul/r&b? I don't know what the title means, and it doesn't really matter. All I know is that it's out, it's free and it's dope. I have to say, I didn't see an Outasight and Freddie Gibbs track coming, but here we are. Today the young retro-infused singer/emcee/etc. Outasight dropped off his new track "Near the End", a quasi-classic rock track, and while I was unsure how Gangster Gibbs would sound over a beat like this, I have to say, pretty damn good. Clothing company (and emerging record label?) LRG are back at it again with the release of Outasight's new project "Further". For those who aren't familiar, Outasight is an NYC based artist whose blend of rap/soul/reggae/rock/you f**king name it recently landed him a deal with Warner Bros./Asylum. In other words, it's only a matter of time before the dude blows up like high school science project, so I highly recommend you get to know his unique musical vision asap. Listen and download...
