If there's one common myth about long-time west coaster Murs it's that he can be too serious (see his previous offering "The Problem Is"), but folks that claim he doesn't know how to have a good time obviously don't listen to the man regularly; tracks like "Asian Girl" are nothing new. The latest cut off he and 9th Wonder's upcoming collabo album "Fornever" (which has been pushed back), "Asian Girls" is, well, everything you think it is. Listen and download...
Hip-hop nation is waiting with bated breath for Murs and 9th Wonder's new collaborative album "Fornever", but last Friday a select few (including yours truly) were given the chance to exhale during an exclusive listening session. Taking place in the L.A. clothing store And Still (which, by the way, is the spot for dope vintage sports gear), the listening session included a set from legendary DJ Rhettmatic, along with, of course, Murs himself introducing some of the album's best tracks. I'm not trying to rub it in, but if you don't wish you were there, you should. See more...
As we so dopely discovered last week when their previously unreleased "3:16 Part 2" dropped, Murs and 9th Wonder are back on their collabo ish, and the results so far have been nothing but head-nodding. The latest addition to their already impressive catalog is their new joint "The Problem Is", a soulful cut featuring Murs west coast compatriots Sick Jacken and Uncle Chucc. Yeah, it's gonna be a problem. Listen and download...
Once alive and well in the '80s and '90s, the one emcee-one producer collabo album was largely dead in the early 2002. No more! Joining the growing renaissance of collabo albums are west coast rapper extraordinaire Murs and east coast production god 9th Wonder. As the dynamic duo prepares to unleash their latest effort, "Fornever" upon the world, they've unearthed the previously unreleased '3:16 P.t 2", a cut that dopely (and predictably) combines Murs high-caliber rhymes and 9th's always soulful production. B-List actresses be warned (and flattered) because FELT is back! Slug (of Atmosphere) and Murs (of Living Legends) reunite for their third release as the supergroup FELT. With the fresh addition of Aesop Rock on production, Slug and Murs are pleased to present "FELT 3: A Tribute to Rosie Perez". The album is set to drop November 17, on Rhymesayers Entertainment, but to get you properly warmed up today I've got the first leak from the project, the predictably dope "Protagonists". See more to listen and download...
