It's probably a good thing for a rapper to tap into his emo side every now and then and Maino does just that on his latest record "I Still Love You." Apparently the song focuses on his past relationship with Lil Kim and if you're like me you probably had no idea that the two rappers even had a "thing" going. But you're sure to be filled in on "I Still Love You." Listen and download...
I always wonder how athletes feel when rappers name awful songs after them. Well, I guess I'll just have to ask Michael Vick thanks to this latest release from Maino and Jim Jones. First off, the song starts with an excerpt from The Joker in "The Dark Knight" film. Because that absolutely makes a ton of sense for a song like this. Listen and download...
Prior to listening to Lil Wayne & Maino's "CREAM" I expected a high-energy song with punchlines for days, but instead "CREAM" is pretty forgettable and almost generic sounding. Instead you've got a lot of bragging from Maino and a subpar verse from Wayne, it's almost as if he's trying entirely too hard to be clever. Take for instance this line: "Bitch I'm getting paid, I'm on my Bernie Madoff." Listen and download...
Monster Mondays? Monsta Mondays? Monsta Mondayz? I Don't Really Give a Fuck Days? Whatever you want to call Swizz Beatz' weekly series, there's no denying that the man has been making some noise, and not all of it has been terrible (See "King Tut"). This new "We Keep It Rockin" joint though? This makes me a little queasy. Listen and download...
Consequence - a.k.a. the dude who's signed to G.O.O.D. and also oddly looks kind of Kanye from some angles - is building some track-by-track hype around his upcoming "Movies on Demand" mixtape. Apparently done playing "Childish Games", Cons is now adding the latest brick in his musical wall with his new leak "Down This Road", a superbly produced joint featuring Brooklyn's own Maino and some deceptively clever rhymes from Cons that you may have to listen to a couple times to really pick up.
