Given the ghostwriting contests, 47 minute freestyles, pointless beef, terrible leaks and tweeting scandals my expectations for Game's new "R.E.D. Album" were somewhere between OJ Da Juiceman and shrug levels. So you can imagine my surprise when it turned out the album is actually pretty damn good. Seriously. A no track is better than his collaboration with Kendrick Lamar, "The City". Listen and download...
When I first heard that the name of Game's next single off of his upcoming album was titled "Good Girls Go Bad" and that it featured Drake I had certain expectations about the song. They weren't bad expectations I just expected to hear a radio-friendly club tune, but after hearing Game's first verse I realized my expectations were all wrong. Listen and download...
I see you Game. Release an awful diss track so when you do leak tracks from your album we're kind of paying attention to you. I suppose that makes sense. Just days after Game's "Infrared" track was leaked it seems that we've got ourselves yet another "R.E.D. Album" leak this time in the form of the DJ Khalil produced song "Drug Test." Only days after dissing about 80 percent of the music industry on "Uncle Otis" and becoming a worldwide trending topic on Twitter, Compton rapper Game has released yet another song. Fortunately though Game has left the dissing, whining, and other emotions out of this one. Listen and download...
Jayceon Taylor grew up in Compton where he became a gang banger with the Bloods, got shot, decided to pursue rap, signed with Dr. Dre, blew up, released a couple pretty damn good albums, got his face tattooed, kind of disappeared, started releasing some terrible music and is now doing tracks with a guy who appeared on an album cover wearing mandex pants. Part of me thinks that Game actually made his "Red Nation" video so it would be banned by MTV, subsequently giving him far more press than he would have gotten otherwise. Either way, he's still not much closer to regaining his status as an elite rapper, and I don't think new single "Bottles & Rockin' J's" will help much. See more...
You want your mind blown? It's been seven months since "Kush" first dropped. Seven months! That's crazy. In fact, it's been so long that lost verses are starting to leak and feel like archeological artifacts. Case in point Game's work for the "Kush" remix that never saw the light of day. As a music video that’s been banned from TV, I guess there was a little too much red for the networks, you know we had to break down this new Game and Lil Wayne video “Red Nation.” The video was a little predictable though. It’s set in one of those super chaotic, "the world just kinda ended but not really" society’s so there’s still a good deal of humor to be found in the video. See more...
