My A.D.D.‘s acting up, so I hope you’re in the mood for a series of semi-coherent thoughts about the new Game leak “Phantom”. And if you’re not, you’re getting ‘em anyway. Listen and download…
And now for what I’m sure will be one of the most controversial picks in Classic Verse history. While “don’t call me The” Game has earned legions of loyal fans, he’s also inspired hatred on a massive scale, mostly from the hip-hop head community. While overall I’m more in the latter group than the former (his “R.E.D.” mixtape was decent), I will give it up to the man; “Dreams” was one of the best debut songs by any artist. See more…
Unless he drops a video featuring a completely naked Rosa Acosta later today I promise this will be the last Game post for a minute, but after the mixtape and the new single, I figured why not the video? So without further ado I give you “don’t call me the” Game’s visual accompaniment to his Cool & Dre single “Shake”. Enjoy, or not. Either way.
Looks like Game is launching a full out effort to take over the game. Just a day after he dropped his new “The R.E.D. Room” mixtape Jayceon is back with the latest single from his upcoming “R.E.D. Album”, and this time he’s bringing Justin Timberlake (on the hook) and Pharell (on the beat) for the ride. “Ain’t No Doubt About It” may just be the most openly radio-friendly (a.k.a. softest) track of Game’s career. As a general rule people with facial tattoos aren’t very reliable, so it really shouldn’t be surprising that rumors of “don’t call me the” Game’s new mixtape “The R.E.D. Room” have been swirling for what feels like months now. Well, somehow, someway, Mr. Taylor’s new street opus has found its way to the interwebs, and despite earlier rumors it turns out it’s hosted by DJ Skee (ball), not DJ Drama. Over the weekend former Outkast associate and current independent grinder Killer Mike decided to start dropping tracks like Trina drops cell phone pics of her vagina. First up is the mo money, mo problems cut “Still My Nigga”, a slowly winding track also featuring Ludacris and Game. Killer Mike Bigga insists that “Still My Nigga” is still unfinished, but it sounds pretty damn good to me. Listen and download…
Ok, so Game’s new single “Shake”, produced by Cool & Dre, isn’t nearly as bad as the audio abomination that was “Pussy Fight” (which, if it weren’t for “Tipsy Texting” would be the worst song of the year), but I also think it’s safe to say that it’s not blowing anyone away either. This means that everything we’ve heard off Game’s upcoming “The Red Album” is mediocre at best, which raised an important question: what happened to the man? Listen and download…
Ever since he dropped “The Recession” Young Jeezy’s been a guilty pleasure of mind, kind of like the hip-hop version of eating pork rinds or watching “Jersey Shore”. There’s almost no redeeming qualities to be found, but damnit if Jeezy’s always booming beats and “I brush my teeth wil gravel” voice aren’t entertaining as hell. In that spirit I present the Snowman’s new single “Scared Money” featuring the soon to be imprisoned Lil Wayne, who at the very least drops a great Bonecrusher reference. Listen and download…
The Chris Brown comeback special continues with the release leak of the latest track off his upcoming Graffiti” album, the pounding “Wait”. Although it’s unclear exactly what anyone’s waiting for, that doesn’t stop Brown, Trey Songz and Game (who almost sadly turns in one of his best verses in a minute) from flowing over a supremely energetic Polow da Don beat. Today The Game inexplicably announced that from now he should be referred to only as “Game”: Why? Cause f**k “the"s, that’s why. Still Jayceon Terrell Taylor’s name change doesn’t even rank particularly high when measured against hip-hop’s historical line-up of aliases. From Diddy to Roll Fizzlebeef, here’s the best and worst aliases the game (I mean the rap game) has served up do far.
