Regular readers know I have a tendency to post artists from my hometown Boston - what can I say, I go hard for my city. Luckily, I don't have to issue a homer disclaimer on the new REKS cut "This or That". Coming off his upcoming "Teaser" EP, this record came with a disclaimer from producer Statik Selektah: "this is NOT for the radio... and might offend some. oh well." Listen and download...

Yeah, you fucking read that right. I was going to post the new Trey Songz and Drake joint (lord forbid we went 24 hours without a new Drizzy track) but I'm pulling a complete 180 and instead posting this rare and unbelievably random remix spotted on the same Hype Men podcast that sparked my "White on White Hate" article. When it was revealed that Young Scolla's previous effort, the dope "Stare", didn't end up on his upcoming "Tears & Triumph" album we were left wondering how good a record had to actually be to make the final cut. Today we have the answer with his new, smooth single "Apart", a r&b-hemmed joint produced by Rodney Hazard. Listen and download...
I don't want to make it seem like I just post everything's Big K.R.I.T. does, believe it or not we do try to carefully consider the music we post around here at the RefinedHype offices, but I'll be damned if nearly everything Krizza touches isn't doper than...um...some dope. Ok, not my best analogy, but you're not hear to read about K.R.I.T.'s new cut "If I Should Die", you're hear to listen to it. Listen and download...
If I was a radio programmer My City representative and "My Soul to Keep" author Sha Stimuli would find his music blasting out on the airwaves, but the chances of anyone putting my heavily tattooed, hip-hop loving white ass in charge of radio programming is slimmer than Paris Hilton after a coke binge. Luckily Sha's taken matters into his own hands on his new cut "Unsung". Listen and download...

Having already made his major play for radio love on "Got Ya Back" and done the soulful thing on "Ya Hear Me", T.I. is getting back to his signature grind sound on his new "King Uncaged" joint "Pledge Allegiance to the Swag", a quasi-banger that uses some more elite J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League production and a Ricky Ross verse to craft a certified head-nodder. It's no "What You Know", but it'll do for now. Listen and download...
I won't front. I knew Las Vegas representer Marion Write (a.k.a. the rhyme-half of The Perfect Formula) had some serious skill, but I didn't know he could do it like this. When I first heard his new cut "Field of the Dollar" is was impressed by its heavily jazz-influenced sound (so I threw it into the Daily Re-Up), but then I found myself listening to it again the next day, and again the next, and now "Dollar" has joined my regular rotation.
