To celebrate the very successful release of Cypress Hills’ new album “Rise Up”, Priority Records, the “real home of gangsta rap” has teamed up with RefinedHype to give away a Priority Records CD catalog consisting of classic work from the likes of Cypress Hill, Snoop Dogg, Eazy E, Master P and EPMD. Comment and win!
Damn, for a crew of stoners Cypress Hill sure knows how to work hard. Only a few weeks after the release of their new album “Rise Up”, which has to be counted among the best of their careers, the consummate west coast are back yet again with their brand new mixtape “The Uprising”. (Get it?) Listen and download…
Hey, Cypress Hill fans! I know it’s 4/20, but you may want to set aside those “water pipes” and “hand-rolled cigarettes” (as they’re called in your friendly neighborhood head shop) for long enough to enter to win one of two free copies of “Rise Up,” the legendary South Gate, California foursome’s first full-length in six years. Learn how to enter…
As I alluded to in yesterday’s big motherlovin Block of Cypress Hill the L. A. crew was busy at work on some visuals to go along with their ass-shaking anthem “Armada Latina” featuring Pitbull and Marc Anthony, and sure enough today they delivered. Get the block party started.
What’s the only thing better than Cypress Hill? That’s right, more Cypress Hill. That’s why I decided to temporarily dedicate give RefinedHype over to a big motherloving Block of Cypress Hill. Bringing up the anchor spot is the darkly banging “Get Higher”, a track that, incredibly, isn’t really about weed, at least by Cypress Hill standards. Don’t worry, I’m sure they’re still bringing out that six foot bongs onstage during shows, but “Rise Up” so far sounds like it’s relatively sober. Listen and download…
as they build some much deserved hype around the release of their upcoming album “Rise Up"so I thought it’d be the perfect time to hit y’all with a big fat Block of Cypress Hill. If you don’t already have a contact high simply reading the name Cypress Hill, you will soon. Next up in the block is a sneak peak of the visuals behind their rising hit “Armada Latina”, an eminently danceable track featuring Pitbull and salsa king Marc Anthony. See more…
With album Cypress Hill’s upcoming “Rise Up” shaping up to be a new school classic and new Cypress materiel flooding the interwebs on the daily, I thought it’d be a perfect time to drop a big fat block o’ Cypress Hill on your domes. First up we have the boy’s new single “Carry Me Away” featuring Linkin’ Park frontman Mike Shinoda (a.k.a. the rock guy rappers like working with cause he can kind of rap). Produced by Shinoda as well - hence the live instrument feel - “Carry Me Away” is one of the most honest and autobiographical tracks in Cypress Hill history. Listen and download…
After more than two decades in the game most groups would be happy to simply lay back and coast on their reputation, but Cypress Hill’s new album “Rise Up” is so far shaping up to be one of their most sonically adventurous efforts yet. Not only is “Armada Latina” one of my favorite Cypress cuts of all time (cue Kanye), but the album’s title track “Rise Up” is an undeniably dope call to action from the chronically blunted, and politically active, L.A. crew. Don’t believe me? Check out the hard rock inspired visuals. See more…
Longevity, integrity and compromise are hard things to maintain in the music industry. but don’t tell that to Cypress Hill. Selling over 18 million records and having a career spanning 3 decades, they are still going strong and preparing for the release of their upcoming eighth studio album “Rise Up” coming out on Priority Records. They’ve been able to achieve all of this while keeping their hard edge, rebellious attitude and bucking commercial trends; qualities that are evident in their hit video “Rock Superstar”.
Cypress Hill’s been largely absent from the national stage for the last few years, but if the early momentum surrounding their upcoming album “Rise” is any indication, the boys from East L.A. are about to come back in a major way. First they dropped the dope lead single “It Ain’t Nothin”, and now they’ve flipped the script completely and dropped their new single “Armada Latina”. A Jim Jonsin joint that expertly mixes hip-hop, salsa and meringue, “Armada Latina” is easily the most rhythmically moving joint of Cypress Hill’s career. Listen and download…
