As if you needed more proof that Curren$y is chronically impaired after his appearance on the “Marley & Me (Remix)”, the New Orleans native has dropped his new THC-soaked mixtape “Smokee Robinson” (great name by the way). Mixed by the omnipresent DJ Don Cannon and featuring rhyme cameos from Wiz Khalifa, Nipsey Hu$$le, Chip Tha Ripper, Big Sean and more, “Smokee Robinson” is the mixtape of a man who’s got one foot on the streets, one foot in the clouds, and both lungs full of that sticky-icky.

Someone needs to do an in-depth study and figure out which has inspired more hip-hop songs, booty or marijuana. Honestly, I’d guess weed, and I know Smoke DZA agrees with me. As if his love of the sticky needed more proof (he did drop a mixtape called “Substance Abuse”) he’s now delivered a remix to “Marley and Me” featuring fellow tokers Devin The Dude, Curren$y and Asher Roth, complete with a video. When news broke last week that underground-isf favorites Curren$y, Jay Electronica and Mos Def would be forming a group called Center Edge Territory the interwebs predictably began frothing at the mouth in anticipation. It’s unclear is Curren$y’s latest track, the jazzy “Breakfast (In & Out)” is officialy a Center Edge joint, but it was produced by Mos Def. In other words, let the hype begin.
