It's ok to be wary. When I first heard that
Yelawolf was going to be doing a collaborative project with some British singer (
Ed Sheeran) I was worried to. I don't know what I pictured - probably something like
Craig David doing remixes of "Pop the Trunk".
While now that their "
Slumdon Bridge EP" project is finally out I can say that not only was my fear unfounded, but this shit is actually pretty dope. Sure, it's on the mellow side, but Yela's lyricism knows no bounds and he somehow manages to sound as un-fuck-withable as always, even with Sheeran's laid back backdrops.
And don't worry, I've listened to it all and "Slumdon" is #FuckLove approved. The potential was high, but there's nary a love song to be found. Preview and download link below the tracklist. Enjoy:
1. London Bridge
2. You Don’t Know (For Fuck Sake)
3. Faces
4. Tone
