As we approach the 15-year anniversary of the death of rapper
Tupac Shakur, XXL Magazine has decided to pay respect to the rapper with their September 2011 issue. The bandana-clad Pac is featured on the cover of the magazine which unfortunately boasts the headline "2Pac Back." Really XXL? You just had to resort to the extremely overused Meek Mill song? I guess "R.I.P. Tupac" was just a little too tame.
It's hard to believe that most of us were nothing more than children when Tupac was killed 15 years ago in Las Vegas. Regardless, his legacy has held quite strong over the past 15 years. This year alone he seemed to be involuntarily resurrected thanks to Meek Mill's "2Pac Back" and on top of that
two previously unreleased songs from the rapper hit the net a few weeks ago. Oh, and he's on the cover of one of Hip-Hop's biggest magazines. Now that's one hell of a legacy.
Nathan Update: Here's the crazy thing to me, check out XXL's headline. So Rick Ross is determining coverage of Pac now? Don't want it to overshadow the celebration of Pac's music, but it had to be mentioned.
