Wiz Khalifa Reps That “Black and Yellow” (Listen & Download)

Well, well, well, look who's back on his major label grind. A few years after splitting with Warner Bros. and then rebuilding his career on the indie circuit, hip-hop's most heavily tattooed, skinniest, highest rapper Wiz Khalifa has rolled out his Atlantic Records debut, "Black and Yellow", a title which I assume is a reference to his native Pittsburgh. (I wouldn't be shocked if it had some other weed reference double meaning I'm not getting. Any theories).

While I like Wiz, I don't seem to be as hyped on the man as a lot of other folks. Now a lot of that may be because I'm not a big smoker, but I'm sorry, I just don't hear what everyone's so excited about. Especially on more swagger-related tracks like "Black and Yellow" - which raises an interesting question, how much will Atlantic try to change his sound? This record certainly has that radio crossover feel. Anyway, I'm interested to hear what the more hardcore Wiz fans have to say. Are you feeling this? What am I missing?

TheBayToLA	This is dope, but its not gonna be the one that blows up. I think both Wiz and Curren$y would benefit more if they dropped How Fly 2 instead of individual projects.

Nathan S.	Apparently this leaked prematurely (god that sounds dirty) so Wiz had to rush out the single ahead of time. Regardless, absolutely no hate, I just haven't bought into the Wiz movement yet. We'll see what the rest of his major label efforts sound like.

TheBayToLA	basically, if you dont smoke, or just like him as a person(watch day to day), then you're not gonna be a fan. haha to say he is past his prime is ridiculous though,hes like 22? or something. The only place he can go is up and its all indie so theres no reason for him to sell out.
