Rise Up

Hey, Cypress Hill fans! I know it's 4/20, but you may want to set aside those "water pipes" and "hand-rolled cigarettes" (as they're referred to in your friendly neighborhood head shop) for long enough to enter to win one of two free copies of Rise Up, the legendary South Gate, California foursome's first full-length since 2004's Till Death Do Us Part.

To enter, all you have to do is comment below with the title of your favorite Cypress Hill song and explain, in five lines or less, why you think that track stands above the rest. The two members who submit the best responses before the Friday, April 23, deadline, will each win a CD copy of Rise Up.

"Armada Latina"

It's one of those rare songs that, from the first listen, I could tell I was going to become OBSESSED with. A well-crafted summer jam that perfectly layers hip-hop, salsa and meringue to create one potent package to uplift Latino community. Not too poppy but also not too traditional. It's perfect for block parties, a summer evening drive through the city... top down, singing along, you know, all those good times. This record has great balance of feel-good fun and inspirational lyricism.

"Carry Me Away"

How can you go wrong with a Mike Shinoda collabo? Dude is one of the most underrated artist/producers in the game today. Once you start nodding your head, you won't stop. That defines a dope record.

I'll go with "Rap Superstar"
It's my favorite not because I think it's the best, but because it was my first exposure to them (I know, I came late lol) and was instantly hooked

Can't go wrong with "Insane in the Brain"...the West Coast's first earworm (don't lie, you still got the words in your head and can shout them on memory)

"How I Could Just Kill A Man"
The entire 1st album was incredible. It dropped at the right time, too. Most kids at that time were getting into that metal/rap blend, and Cypress Hill came in with a whole new angle. It still will get every head in a bar to start noddin'... a true classic.
