Wale’s Looking for That “Black and Gold” (Listen & Download)

Um......... A lead single is supposed to get you excited about the release of a project, but Wale's latest "Black and Gold" is having the opposite effect on me. After hearing "Eyes of the Tiger" I was stoked to hear Wale's latest mixtape "More About Nothing". Then "Ambitious Girl" dropped, and even though I wasn't feeling it as much, I thought it was cool Wale dropped a spoken word-type thing.

But "Black and Gold"? I'm not feeling that techno-dance production from Kosmik Kev and DJ Omega, and while Wale gets in some nice punchlines - "Create life with the beats (Beatz)...Alicia Keys" - I wasn't particularly impressed with his lyrical output either. And as the dopeboyz pointed out, I thought the whole point of this project was to include a Seinfeld sample?

So what's "More About Nothing" going to sound like? "Eyes of the Tiger" or "Black and Gold" We'll find out for sure when the project drops tomorrow.

Eh, I sorta like this. It's not incredible, but it works.

And not every single song contained a Seinfield sample on the original, it was just a recurring theme to base concepts on Seinfield, or take ideas and such that happened in the show, for the vast majority of the tape.

Now did he actually get the entire Seinfield crew together again for that picture, or is that photoshopped? I know he had Julia LD ("Elaine") for the last mixtape.

Nathan S.	I wont' lie, I'm anxious to hear the project drop tomorrow. I'm sincerely hoping for dopeness. And I can pretty confidently say that's photoshopped. You can obviously get Elaine, and maybe even George and Kramer (although people hate him now for that n**ga rant), but there's no way Jerry's doing this.

tdotraza	True, true. As far as Jerry goes, he -might- even have personal beef with Wale, due to him having recorded with Lady Gaga. Unlikely that he even knows about that, but yeah, lol.
