Wale, Ross & Loso’s “Albert Pujols” Barely Only About Albert Pujols (Listen & Download)

Wale Reach
(J. Cole has nothing to do with this song, I just wanted to shout out Wale's left hand.)

I know Wale and I have had our disagreements in the past (aka I've criticized him and he has no fucking idea who I am) but I will give the man this - the man makes some of the better sports references in the game. His MMG sugar daddy Rick Ross? Not so much. And Fabolous? The man's been known to throw down an ill punchline or two. Well then, this new "Albert Pujols" should be interesting.

Rumored to be a leftover from the "Ambition" recording sessions, although you know how reliable interwebs rap rumors are, "Albert Pujols" is only barely about Albert Pujols. Sure, the trio throw in a line or three, mostly about his remarkably consistent power hitting numbers, but if "Albert Pujols" is about anything it's about selling drugs, making money and fucking Latinas; which, minus the drug selling, is actually something Pujols actually does (see here and here).

Anyway, obviously the right choice to leave off "Ambition" - if he had throw this on the album I would have rightfully slammed it as a lazy "Barry Bonds" knock off. But as a random leak/mixtape cut? Sure, I'll nod my head to this for four minutes.

Tagged up for now. I'll update with the clean version when it inevitably drops in 5, 4, 3.....
