This is disappointing. His voice doesn't even really work with what he's trying to do. |

^Cosign He sounded good on Pandemonium, stole the show on that one. He should get into that type of mode instead of this. |

Never liked Wale and him trying to be more like Rick Ross will certainly not change that. That album will be interesting though. |

Sounds like the sad end of another hopeful era. I thought it was Drake when he did songs with Dwele and Little Brother then he signed with Young Money. I Thought it was Wale when he was rhyming over Camp Lo samples then he signed with Maybach Music. I still have J. Cole on deck, but the more time goes on the more it seems that the only way to achieve mainstream success is to give up your creative side and do the same ignorant style songs that have dominated top 40 for almost a decade now. For a while there I thought like Lupe said on Failure. I thought it was coming back around to the lyrics though it seems it's only cascading further away. I love underground MCs, but it's not right that they can't enjoy commercial success without rhyming about six hundred thousand dollar houses you know they can't afford because there innovative, thought provoking, and in my opinion Classic album flopped because it was released in a genre of music where majority of it's "fans" don't want to hear you rap about the real. I'm sorry about that rant. I'm just infuriated with the Wale situation and Hip Hop as a whole. |

Here is how I feel about Wale. Dude made some incredible music with the Mixtape About Nothing, Attention Defecit, More About Nothing, Back To The Feature and of course Nike Boots. And thats all I need. If we wants to go in a different lane, let him because he will fade out in no time with that. Also, having experience in booking, he is a flake that doesnt give a shit about performing. The bad sales of AD had to have fucked with his head a lot. To bitcloud: Drake hasnt faded away from his concious side just yet. He still gives props to rappers and shouts em out. As far as them being a part of his work, we will have to see on his next album. I just wanna know WHEN THE HELL ARE WE GETTING A J COLE DEBUT ALBUM. Anyway, if you guys have time check out my song and tell me what you think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvQwxWHJ3gc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVtEIpYYIY0 |

I liked attention deficit a lot, and i still listen to more about nothing.Wale ft J. Cole beautiful bliss i still listen to. If Wale has to do a bit of ignorant to get more fans under his belt so be it, as long as he keeps some of his music the same for his original fan base. Jay-Z boasted that he dumbed down his music to get his money up, and look where it got him. But im not saying its a good move. I prefer Lupe on Dumb It Down, but i do think he stepped down a bit for most of Lasers |

"I dumbed down for my audience to double my dollars. You criticize me for it, yet y'all all yell holla"-Jay Z Perfect example, now time will tell if Wale can make a lasting pop culture impression like Jay did. Now, J.Cole REALLY needs a greenlight to put that album out. His fans are very loyal ones it seems, so it makes sense to put it out and worry more about sales on his next album. (Reasonable Doubt didnt even go crazy with sales until after a few weeks.) Whatever the hold up is, I hope it doesnt put a hold on the man's career. I dont want Cole ending up like D4L "who?", Yeah I did that. (unless he at least makes his own good music). |
