It may sound corny, but I really do think of RefinedHype Nation as a family. A deeply dysfunctional, alcoholic, booty loving family, but still....a family. And it just so happens that many of our family members happen to be some seriously talented folks.

So support one of our own in Chris Avery and his new single "Wake Up". Chris wrote our long-standing "Truthfully Speaking" series and after graduating decided to go all-in on hip-hop, working to create a career for himself as an emcee and producer.

On the real, like any new artists I can pretty much guarantee that it's going to be a longer and harder road then he could possibly imagine, but as long as Avery keeps making music like "Wake Up", music that he truly believes in and music that truly represents him, he'll be just fine.

Enjoy, and those digging "Wake Up" can keep an ear out for Chris Avery's upcoming debut album "Introspective", due out sometime before "Detox".
