After spending the entire morning listening to baby-making jams from Jason Caesar I needed some rugged rap in my life to balance things out. but just as I was about to cue up the Sean Price I found this new joint, "Back Bitches", from Brooklyn emcee Wais P that's harder than Tyson in his prime.

With Boston producer/label boss/modern day hip-hop Renaissance man Statik Selektah providing the beat and former Jay-Z running mate Sauce Money jumping in on a guest verse I was already sold, but ultimately it was Wais' lyrics that made him hit the rewind button. Regular readers know I'm a sucker for dope lyrical references, so when an emcee drops references to Brittany Murphy's drug overdose, '70s MLB pitcher Tom Seaver in one verse and Clubber Lang from "Rocky III", I'm in. Dopeness.
