From Lady Gaga to Ciara, RefinedHype’s 2010 MTV VMAs Red Carpet Awards

Aside from Kanye West’s dedication to douchery the clear highlight of the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards last night (September 12) was the various fashions worn by celebs on the red carpet. In typical RefinedHype fashion we had to of course highlight our favorite and least favorite looks with a few awards of our own. Check it out.

The Award For Best Color Coordinated Couple Goes To…Usher & His Date

It looks like R&B phenom Usher chose to give back to the community as he invited a young lady to pose with him on the red carpet at the VMA’s. Usher and his female fan, who we’ll call Justina, look great in their “all black everything” attire.

The Award For Most Improved Goes To…Lady Gaga

I never thought I would be in awe, in a good way, by anything worn by Lady Gaga but this dress from the late Alexander McQueen is amazing. The colors, the print, the side train, it all comes together to create one extremely stunning dress. Even the bizarre hair piece works.

The Award For Best Outfit From Target Goes To…Snooki

We have to give Snooki her props for copping her entire VMA red carpet look from Target. In the long run it saves money for much needed items like hairspray, tanning goods, and of course bedazzled Ed Hardy trucker hats.

The Award For The Most Epic Rat Tail Goes To…Kesha

Aside from the fact that her dress appears to be made from a Glad trash bag, “singer” (if you want to call it that) Kesha had the nerve to hit up the red carpet sporting quite the epic rat tail. Some might call it a braid, but that is clearly a Grade-A rat tail hanging from the side of her head. No bueno! Foul on the play!

The Award For The Biggest Feather Fail Goes To…Ciara

For the past year or so Atlanta singer Ciara has ended up on the worst dressed list of blogs, magazines, etc. for the disasters she’s worn on the red carpet. It looks like this year’s VMA’s are no different. We really aren’t sure what to think of this feathery getup Ciara sported at last night’s awards.

The Award For The Most Effortless Look Goes To…Rosario Dawson

It seems like actress Rosario Dawson can never do wrong when she rocks the red carpet. If she decided to wear a down feather comforter as a dress I don’t think anyone would complain. Luckily though instead of a down feather comforter Dawson decided to wear a flattering electric blue halter dress to the VMA’s. The dress looked stunning and her lack of accessories and pulled back hair added even more to the glamour of the look.
