Incredibly, in the span of the last two hours I picked up notable hip-hop videos faster than Kobe picked up fouls last night (let it go Lakers fans). When I'm confronted with such a barrage of visuals there's only one solution: more Video Wraps! Today's edition featured new flicks from Young Jeezy, Rhymefest, Statik Selektah, Theophilus London, Kendrick Lamar and Wordsmith.
Young Jeezy – Stop Playin’ Wit Me x My Camaro
Jeezy on his, "fuck it, I'll just film my video in a shoe store" shit. Cause real gangsters don't need set designers.
Rhymefest – Say Wassup f. Phonte
Reportedly hip-hop’s first three-dimensional music video, which I am unable to confirm cause, you know, I don't have a pair of 3-D glasses laying around. If you do, enjoy.
Statik Selektah – So Close So Far f. Bun B, Wale & Colin Munroe (Video)
I've got nothing but respect for Statik, but the man's operating way above his pay grade when it comes to imaginary wives/mistresses. Note to self: become a dope DJ/producer/label owner, start filming videos.
Theophilus London - I Want You
It's videos like these that make dudes want to be rappers/singers/whatever it is that London is. Yeah, it's a hard knock life. (Off his "I Want You" mixtape.)
Wordsmitih - As the Art Fades
Sadly, half the young cats who watch this will go "whose Big Daddy Kane?" Educate em Wordsmith.
Kendrick Lamar – Wanna Be Heard
I see Kendrick around L.A. all the time and the man always comes with it. Props to everyone chasing their dream.
