There are definitely mixed feelings about the Kanye Video. But how can you not give the guy credit this came so far outside the box and is really powerful while watching it. |

The Kanye video is kinda disappointing(maybe because i've been to the sistine chapel). It is nice looking, but it has no real story, context, relevance or climax(unless you consider almost being touched with a sword to be exciting). When I saw it yesterday I though it was just a really good amateur video because some artists liked the song. If it went somewhere it may be better, but it is just too short and boring. That being said, i applaud his efforts and hope he makes this into a full length video. |

I thought Kanye's video was excellent. It was very different, and not something you would imagine when you listen to the track. The whole moving painting concept was executed very well in my opinion, and I felt like it had a greek myth type of vibe to it. |

Kanye's video is nothing short of brilliance, in my opinion. @TheBayToLA No relevance, story, or climax? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damocles This video is based on the above Greek myth, which is VERY fitting to the song... |

And I didn't even remember to comment on Janelle Monae! I don't know what to say about her, to be honest. She work and style are just ten different kinds of amazing. |

The entire song? The sword hanging above Kanye is the Sword of Damocles. "Only at the end of the meal did he look up and notice a sharpened sword hanging directly above his head by a single horse-hair. Immediately, he lost all taste for the fine foods and beautiful companions and asked leave of the tyrant, saying he no longer wanted to be so fortunate." In Kanye's case the sword would be all of the negative feedback on his actions from paparazzi, SNL, etc. "You got the power to let power go?" |
