Before VH1 airs it's deeply controversial, much boycotted
Dirty South Hip-Hop Honors on Monday they've leaked a sampling of the live performances that went down, including efforts from Bun B, J.D., Didy, Pitbull and more. Truth be told, I'm not that stoked for this, but who am I kidding? I"ll be watching on Monday. Making fun of Jermaine Dupri alone will be worth it. Who knows? Maybe I'll even do
another live breakdown.
Jermaine Dupri & Diddy - "Welcome to Atlanta"
In addition to being the most ballingest player, Jermaine Dupri is also the most out of breath rapper, and Diddy's not exactly much better. I won't lie to you, not exactly a strong endorsement of the show's quality.
Timbaland Tribute
Bun B pays homage to Timbo (or at least Timbo before he went pop). Seriously, that "Big Pimpin" beat might be the one of best of all-time, and bringing back the surviving portion of UGK for it is huge. Oh, and apparently Timbo's been eating a lot of carry out. The man's not exactly svelte.
Pitbull - "I Know You Want Me"
I'm a Pit fan, and I like how VH1'a trying to bring in the South's Latino influence, but out of all the Southern hip-hop ever we're going with "I Know You Want Me"? Really VH1? Really?
Master P - Make 'Em Say Uuhh
The world's best rapper/athlete makes em say "UUUUUHHHHHH" alongside a recently un-incarcerated Mystikal. This is actually my favorite performance out of all of these. At least the energy's crazy.
