If you hear
Tyga's name and think, "Isn't that the dude who did that wack coconut song?" man, do I have a surprise for you. Either Tyga was really selling himself short on that single or he's been taking lyrical steroids, because over the last couple years the kid has suddenly grown into a man, a man with some serious lyrical strength. Don't believe me? Just check out Tyga's new mixtape "
Black Thoughts" presented by
DJ Ill Will and
DJ Rockstar. That should be all the proof you'll need.
So what explains Tyga's growth? Well, he is signed to Young Money, maybe Weezy's been mentoring him. Then again, Lil Wayne evolved from a "drop it like it's hot" gimmick rapper to one of the best spitters alive. Maybe Tyga's just built similarly. Let's put it this way: if this was baseball, Tyga would have hit like 5 homeruns in his rookie season and 25 in his sophomore campaign. Everyone would be saying he's juicing.
