(Who the fu-schnickens is that dude in the middle? That's AJ son! And he runs this blog. According to Google it's the only picture of Raekwon and Twista together, and I'm enjoying the randomness. Anyway...
I was going to write an entire post about Rick Ross deciding he does care about Jeezy's recent "I'm not starting beef, ok, I kind of am starting beef" campaign by responding with a diss track, but instead I think I decide to just focus on dope music and not the rap soap opera that is the beef game. Imagine that.
Which leads me to the real point we're all here, this new track from Twista featuring Raekwon, "The Heat". Off an upcoming DJ Haze mixtape ("Still Countin Money" for those who care), "The Heat" featured a coolly smooth beat from Twista's frequent production partner The Legendary Traxster, plus No I.D. (who's all about producer collabs lately), one of the more lyrical verses you'll ever hear from Twist and a mic contribution from The Chef, who's slow flow balances the track perfectly. Plus we learn that Twista's favorite John Grisham novel is "The Pelican Brief", so added bonus.
