Honesty, the bulk of what I know about Baltimore comes from watching "The Wire." But I've heard rumors of their unique hip-hop style for years, and while Black Sunn may not be your typical B-More rapper (he may not be your typical anything) his new EP "The Sunn is Black" certainly does the city proud. Produced entirely by Damu, "The Sunn is Black" has a darker, lusher sound that could only come from one man's mind.
If you've never heard Black Sunn it's probably best to start with "Who I Am," a mid-90s styled joint that shows the man has some serious lyrical ability. If you're digging what you're hearing, the tracklisting and download link is below.
