World Continues to Not Care About Timbaland Thursdays (Listen & Download)

Timbaland Thursdays
I'm not sure exactly when it happened, but Timblaland, a man who was once widely considered to be one of the best producers in hip-hop, has become almost laughably disconnected from hip-hop. A lot of people have jumped on the weekly series bandwagon, but Timbaland Thursdays seems more like he heard about this new weekly series thing that the kids liked and then hired some assistant to run it. (Actually, that's pretty much exactly what happened.)

Timbo, I don't exactly know how to break this to you, but people just don't really care about you anymore. If I were to name my favorites beats from 1995-2005 he's be all over the place, but name a dope Timbaland beat from the last five years? Go ahead, I'll give you a minute. Take your time.

This could have been the perfect chance for him to become a hip-hop god again. All he had to do was release just one or two of the hundreds of unreleased songs I'm sure he has in his vault - you know he's at least got some Jay-Z or Aaliyah that never saw the light of day - or drop some truly dope instrumentals that every emcee in the game decides to spit on, but instead we get mediocre tracks like "Around Da Way Tim", a song that's obviously a leftover from his flopped album "Shock Value 3". Awesome, thanks Timbo. This is exactly what I've been waiting for all these years.

@Nathan: I kept thinking about this article ("If Timbaland’s Done With Hip-Hop, Then Hip-Hop’s Done With Him") ever since I heard about Timbo jumping on the weekly series bandwagon. I knew already then that he'd fail, and you words would prove to be prophetic: "So enjoy your Desperate Housewives marathons while they last Timbaland, just don't come crawling back to hip-hop when things go wrong."

I know I'm not forgiving his mercenary words about how his "bread and butter" were not in hip hop... punk! :s

Timbaland is wack. End.

He had some HUGE hits, but overall, he's wack, and he looks wack.

^ I completely agree - I kind of feel like Timbaland was this super hot chick hip-hop was dating, he left us for someone else, but he still thinks he can get a booty call just by sending over some generic flowers.

Until I start hearing some truly dope music from the man, and it seems like he actually cares about hip hop again, I'm done with Timbo.

Uhhh...no...totally not feeling his vibe here.s

The last truly dope beat I've heard from Timbaland (not on that Beaterator bs that I can make/recreate in half an hour...) is probably 2007's "Bounce".

Sad thing too, 'cause I once regarded Timbo as my favourite producer. Now...just...WTF...

To answer your question about the hot beat in the last 5 years- Thank Me Now..&&thats; about it

Even there, 'Thank me Now' is pretty simple for his trademark complexity and quality standards. Same with 'Off That' and 'Ayo Technology', except that those beats are far more newage pop than old hip-hop.
