Usher Raymond v Raymond Album Cover
A week after Usher's "Raymond V. Raymond" debuted at #1 with 329k copies sold, the face of LaFace Records is back at it again. In his second week on the charts the "OMG" singer moved another 92k units to bring his two week grand total (for all you non-math majors out there) to roughly 423k.

While we are busy examining the latest charts, lets take a look at the top 10 urban selections on the "Digital Song Sales" ending the week of April 11.

Top Digital Song Sales (w/ units sold)

02. B.o.B. - Nothing On You ft. Bruno Mars (182,011)
03. Rihanna - Rude Boy (175,377)
04. Taio Cruz - Break Your Heart ft. Ludacris (165,433)
06. Jason Derulo - In My Head (139,147)
07. Usher - OMG ft. will.i.am (124,768)
09. Black Eyed Peas - Imma Be (111,936)
12. Jay-Z - Forever Young ft. Mr. Hudson (94,713)
14. Kevin Rudolf - I Made It ft. Birdman, Jay Sean & Lil Wayne (82,423)
17. Timbaland - Carry Out ft. Justin Timberlake (75,064)
18. Ludacris - My Chick Bad ft. Nicki Minaj (74,380)

The Refined Take:

1) Club-oriented music sells. A quick glance over these ten songs and each of them is burning up the club scene. Simply put: if you can get your material played in the club there is a great chance people will want to purchase it.

2) With the success of "In My Head" Jason Derulo has proven that he isn't a one-hit wonder (see "Whatcha Say"). Now, the question is: can he produce one more hit before recording his sophomore album?

3) After only two weeks on the charts "OMG" is already the seventh highest currently-selling digital single. Wow. That didn't take very long. Expect Usher's newest hit record to make another leap forward next week, possibly into the Top 5.

4) On the subject of one-hit wonders, who knew that Kevin Rudolf had another hit record in him? While "I Made It" isn't as catchy or as successful (yet) as "Let It Rock," Rudolf has proven that his urban/pop/rock hybrid sound can appeal to a large demographic and that it sells digital singles. And yes, we know, having Lil Wayne and Jay Sean on the record doesn't hurt.

5) Today, via his Twitter feed, B.o.B's manager TJ Chapman said that the cost behind the push for Bobby's debut album has well-exceeded a million dollars (as it should). After charting for 11 straight weeks and racking up 1,202,872 digital sales of "Nothing on You," its pretty easy to justify those expenses now. Wouldn't ya say?

As @Nathan said last week, Will.I.Am just saved his ass. At first I was uncertain of how the club audiences would react to the choppy rhythm of the joint. But after personally experiencing it in the club atmosphere - it was an instant hit as peeps felt a familiar vibe with it cos after all its just another BEP song.

"Now, the question is: can he produce one more hit before recording his sophomore album?"

Answer: Ridin' Solo

An absolutely perfect slice of catchy-as-hell RnB-pop, it is the record’s ace in the pack, and the only joint worth repeating on the album, in my opinion. All it takes is one listen to the chorus and... you... will... sing-along.
