Instead of saying what we all knew, I’ll just say like Brett Farve the Zone is back!
With an announcement forthcoming Mr. Wrangler himself Brett Favre looks to be returning to play his 20th season in the NFL.
According to Ryan Longwell his Viking teammate Favre will play once again! I must say that I am completely and honestly not surprised, who is? If you thought for one minute that the last time you would see Farve on a football field would be throwing an interception to lose the NFC championship you were horribly mistaken. This is in his blood just like procrastinating is.
The timing is perfect, what is the biggest story in sports right now? What,
Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson losing at the PGA, Tony Dungy
calling out Rex Ryan for his profane language on "Hard Knocks" or any one of 10
stories happening in baseball. As you can see nothing big, just a bunch of random sport issues that interest those who are serious sports fans. Favre steps right into that position. I guarantee if you check any sports web site, magazine or paper Brett Favre will be on the front page. Who and when do the Vikings play next? That would be the Prime Time Sunday night game against the same team Favre beat in week 3 on the last play of the game last season, the 49ers. Starting to get the picture? Favre is just as bad as a contestant on a dating reality show looking to get a name so they can further their career.
Favre is a great player (you don’t know how much it pains me to say that) no question about that. He has done great things for the game and fans. I respect what he has done for a lot of people but when is it too much? This has been going on for 5 years now and if you really want to be honest longer than that. At this point it’s like a recurring nightmare! We should all understand that the longer we sit around and wait for Favre to make his next decision, we empower him. As fans we more than often give athletes the upper hand in how we feel and view their actions. In most cases it really means nothing outside of the game or sport they play, but when it gets to the point where it has gotten with Favre it becomes ridiculous. He has for the last five years held the entire media captive every off season. Remember that no matter what he does we hold the last word. I just hope we all use it.
2 Minute Drive…
Does Melo really "Lebron" the Nuggets next year? Well the
Nuggets seem to think so! That’s why they are getting a jump on looking to trade him and at least get something back for his services. Word to the wise, Denver DO IT! If not he is as good as gone.
Speaking of Lebron, it seems Cleveland still holds a special place in his heart.
What’s going on in the New York Mets clubhouse these days? Between
K-Rod and
Johan Santana the Mets are getting more press off the field then on the field. I guess they have to win at something.
Hate to see
Stafon Johnson go down with a serious injury but am happy to see
Jeremiah Masoli get another shot.
