The Dream is the “Love King” (Listen & Download)

Everyone's favorite chubby falsettoed crooner The-Dream is gearing up for the release of his third album, "Love King", and in preparation he's let loose of the title track, a trademark Radio Killa track that mixes poppy, bright synths with his always smooth vocals and, of course, plenty of "a, a, a, a"s. In classic Dream fashion you're not quite sure why, but after one listen you'll be humming "Love King" for an hour afterward.

Now regular readers know that I'm on Dream hard; his last album "Love vs. Money" is the best r&b album of the last five years, so it's not an exaggeration that my expectations were crushingly high for "Love King", and that's why I felt a little let down at first. It's good, but it doesn't have that "oh shit!" factor of other Dream tracks. And then I remembered that the first single off his albums ("Shawty is da Shit", "My Love") are always lighter and more easily accessible and took a deep breath. I suggest you do the same.

"Love King" the album is reportedly due out May 17, but expect delays.
