The Cool Kids and
Mayer Hawthorne are the latest artists to try their luck at creating the unofficial summer anthem with their latest release titled "Swimsuits." Hawthorne of course provides the chorus for this not so infectious summer song while The Cool Kids' Sir Michael Rocks and Chuck Inglish rap about "spicy mamacita's," losing hotel keys, and chilling in the Bahamas.
The production for this song started off cool, but then it kinda morphed into something different around the time Hawthorne starts singing. In the beginning the beat had kind of an 80's, almost Afrika Bambaataa like sound to it and that would have sounded great throughout the song but unfortunately they took another route. If they were going for a fun, lighthearted summer song with "Swimsuits" then they may want to try again because it was a little on the dull side.
