It's a simple concept, really. The mothership picks a dope song from a dope artist. We then recruit three producers to re-produce that song. No, not remix, re-produce. In other words, you can't just add some extra drums and call that shit a wrap. We're talking about totally reworking and recreating the track from scratch.

Tech N9ne's "Blur" is dope, Strange Music was down, Shane Eli is dope, and boom, here we are. While the original "Blur" features a woozy and dark instrumental, Eli completely flips the script, grabbing Afro-Cuban samples to transform Tech's storytelling skills into a hip-hop version on "Hotel California".

Eli's version is below the original, keep an eye out for the full "Blur Re-Produced" EP to drop via The DJBooth on July 30. And yes, I've got confirmation from the Strange Music folks who were at the party that every word Tech says on "Blur" really happened, right down to the voicemail at the end. Enjoy....
