Talib Kweli is an outstanding lyricist, Kendrick Lamar is an outstanding lyricist, and I've argued repeatedly that Curren$y's lyrics are far more complex than he gets credit for, so it's no surprise that Kweli's new "Push Thru" joint is filled with wall to wall lyrics. And yes, while I don't know if this one belongs in the "Kendrick Lamar Just Murdered You On Your Own Shit" collection, while their styles are different Kweli definitely commands his own track, but there's now doubting that Kendrick continues to First 48 everything he touches.

I've got a feeling there's a lot more surprises in store for us on both Kweli's "Attack of the Block" mixtape (coming soon) and his "Prisoner of Conscious" album, due out in October on Blacksmith/EMI.

Side note: Although I listened to the track on repeat and can't hear the difference, Kweli insists that this (and not the one below) is the ONLY official version of 'Push Thru" with "Kendrick's correct verse." I'd obviously rather post the official version, so if Kweli delivers a player I can embed I'll update asap.
