Swizz Beatz & DMX’ “Change is Gonna Come” Not As Terrible As Feared (Listen & Download)

When I first say that Swizz Beatz was going a remake of Sam Cooke's "Change Is Gonna Come" I was moderately terrified. Under no circumstances should the man who made "Gucci Rag" be allowed to touch one of the greatest soul songs ever. Thankfully, and surprisingly, the beat isn't half bad, and mercifully Swizzy doesn't say a word. DMX on the other hand....

I say this with all due respect, but X sounds horrible here. I mean, it's great to hear him rapping at all after this many years away from the game and everything he's been through, but this is....there's really no other word for it. It's terrible. "Industry's movin in a different direction / kinda like a bitch with an erection." I don't even know what that means. '98 DMX would have eaten this guy as a light afternoon snack.

Oh well - hopefully this is just the first step in a X's long road back to respectability. Lord knows we need some change in the game.

UPDATE: Sorry folks - frankly it doesn't make sense to me considering it's off Swizz' free weekly series, but I've been hit with ye olde cease and desist letter, so no download or stream for y'all.
