I know what you're thinking, but don't worry. Yes, this is a remix over Common's "Sweet" instrumental, but it's got nothing with two kittens slapboxing Common and Drake's "beef". Instead Brother Ali's new release "Sweet Potato Pie" is about...well...sweet potato pie. No, fucking seriously. It's about pie.

See, I wasn't kidding. It really is about pie, and in a weird way I've never liked Brother Ali more. A lot of guys can spit dope rhymes, but very few can do it while talking about baked goods. Ghostface Killah's been known to rap about the deliciousness of butter biscuits, but Pretty Toney aside it's a pretty small list. In a way I've never liked Brother Ali more.

Between this and "Writer's Block" I'm official stoked for the release of Ali's upcoming collaborative project with Jake One, "Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color", coming sometime before "Detox".
