I may now live within the cushy confines of L.A., but I was born and raised on the hard streets of Boston. (Well, ok, I wasn't "born" on the streets, that'd be unsanitary. And I mean "hard" literally. Boston's streets were made entirely of concrete.) The point is, I'll kick my kids out of the house if they so much a think about wearing a Lakers jersey, and I've been watching the rise of Boston hip-hop with rapt attention the past few years, a rise that's been lead by producer and turntablist Statik Selektah and emcee Termanology.
The ShowOff Records co-founders have now dropped a collaborative project, "1982", (fantastic year, by the way), and to help celebrate DJBooth has linked up Statik and Term to exclusively stream the full album. In addition treating your eardrums to some legitimate freshness, we've also teamed up with ProAudioStar.com to offer a few lucky winners some dope DJ equipment. Come on, who loves ya?
