There was a moment, let's call it 2002, when State Property was a legitimate force. With the Roc-A-Fella juggernaut backing them, Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Peedi Peedi, Omilio Sparks and the Young Gunz (Young Chris and Neef Buck) were slated to move some serious weight. And then as the Roc fell apart, so did State Prop. But now that Beanie's back out of jail, and apparently no longer chasing that ridiculous "beef" with Jay-Z, and Freeway's career is being resurrected as a beloved semi-inderground rapper (and Peedi, Young Chris and Neef are, well, still alive) the crew has come back together for "666".
In the words of the men themselves: "This picture reflects the moment where a group of tired and war torn soldiers are between battles- resting, healing, regrouping - without losing sight of the fact that there is more to do on the battlefield. State Property knows that their collective presence has been missing from hip-hop but also understands there is more to do as a unit, on the battlefield. State Prop back."
Honestly, I have no idea if this is part of a sustained comeback from the crew or just a one-off reunion, but if history is any judge, frankly there's a slim chance you can get that many guys back together on a sustained basis who maybe didn't even like each other that much to begin with. But you know what? For now it doesn't really matter. Let's just take this moment to a nice Jake One beat, raw rhymes and remionsences on the good ol' days....
