Stat Quo Delivers “The Status Report” Mixtape (Listen & Download)

To date Stat Quo's "Ghetto U.S.A." video remains one of the most popular to ever drop on RefinedHype, so it was only natural that we'd post the man's latest brand new mixalbum "The Status Report" (more on that later). One of the ATL's rising rap stars, Stat Quo is equally capable of pumping out bangers and thought provoking music, a combination that's got hip-hop nation eagerly awaiting the release of his upcoming album "Statlanta", currently set to drop in early 2010. In the meantime, check out the full report on the game's status right now.

On a side note, I started a campaign on DJBooth.net to call projects like "The Status Report" mixalbums instead of mixtapes, and I'm gonna continue it here. A 'mixtape" is a collection of songs using production a rapper or DJ didn't clear, which no longer describes half of the so-called "mixtapes" out there today, that are comprised entirely of original beats and rhymes, they're just being distributed for free. More than a mixtape, less than an album, it's a mixalbum. Together we can do this people.
